Blogdate 2009-1.0

Hello! Hello? Are we live?

We are?

Welcome, welcome everyone to my blog. Hello and thanks for visiting my first blog post.

Okay, so how exactly am I supposed to start a blog? Do I post a generic welcome message? Do I post a complicated Captain Kirkesque date and location reference? “Blogdate 2009-1.0, travelling through sector 3.01HZ in internet quadrant X19.”

What if, instead,  I just get right to it and tell you why I’m blogging?

OK, here goes….. I’ve written a book. It’s a novel. It’s called The Net Present Value of Life. I’m going to publish this book in print, as an eBook and as a podcast.

There you go. That’s why I’m blogging.

Now, the more important question is, why should you care? I mean, let’s face it, there are million of books out there. Why should you want to read this one?

The answer is that, while you’ll (hopefully) find it to be a compelling and entertaining read, The Net Present Value of Life is also a novel with a message. A message about hope, about the true definition of success, and about meaningfulness.

Let me say it more plainly. The novel sets out to suggest (and to prove) that:

1) We control our lives (and our destiny) much more than most of us thought possible.

2) Money is an illusion.

Over the next few posts I’ll provide more details about the book’s background, its premise and its progress, and I hope you’ll continue to join me on this blog.

I sincerely thank one and all for visiting and I look forward to reading your comments.

Best,

Mike
